Buckingham Pools are proud sponsors of Ryan Gallacher, Construction Manager at ISG and former soldier, competing at the forthcoming IronBourne – Long Distance Triathlon in Eastbourne. Ryan is fundraising for a local MIND charity, supporting and empowering people experiencing mental health difficulties. 

Ryan shares his inspiring motivation behind taking this big step: “I left the Army 4 years ago and decided to become a Construction Manager to gain more structure and stability for myself and my family. However, one of the biggest things I miss is fitness, something I have always been passionate about. I have seen people suffer from mental health issues inside and outside of the military. I wanted to help raise awareness and provide the assistance they need when the struggles of daily life become too much to handle.” 

To pursue his goal, Ryan researched and discovered the said Triathlon locally, consisting of a 2.4-mile open water swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a full marathon. In entering this multisport challenge, Ryan expects an ultimate test of both his physical and mental capabilities. 

Local MIND services supported over 425,000 people across England and Wales this year. Your donations will go a long way in helping Ryan and MIND fundraise to provide resources to anyone struggling with mental health.
