OXFORD CITY COUNCIL DECARBONISATION PROGRAMME

Buckingham Pools are delighted to be selected to partake in Oxford City Council’s extensive decarbonisation programme, which will see the city’s four leisure centres reduce their emissions by converting from fossil fuels to water and air source heat pumps. Our work scope includes the development of heating schematics, equipment layouts, and technical specifications for high-quality heat exchanger installations, supporting the council’s plan to become Zero Carbon across its estate and operations by 2030. Each heating system will integrate digital control panels displaying pool water pressure and temperatures, allowing the activation of a low-temperature hot water control valve. Working in collaboration with Willmott Dixon and Westec Engineering – Barton Leisure Centre, Ferry Leisure Centre, Leys Pools and Leisure Centre and Hinksey Lido is purposed to soon benefit from significant reductions in carbon footprint across Oxfordshire. We are determined in our role in this enterprising climate-change action, tackling the climate emergency one effective plan at a time.
